Donated "Judy's Fight" to Port Chester HS Library

I have donated my daughter's book called "Judy's Fight" to the Port Chester High School Library in memory of Judy O'Neill-Cenname,who passed away of Breast Cancer on February 4, 2004. Judy's book came out last October 2005. My family and myself are delighted that Judy's book can be part of the school library.

October is Cancer Awareness Month and I was invited to go on Channel 12 News this morning for an Interview about my daughter Judy O'Neill Cenname's book called "Judy's Fight"

Since Judy passed away I have been trying to promote this book and help sell the book and someday, if we sell alot of books, use the royalties to send Judy's two children, Alyssa now 12 and Frankie now 11 to college. 55th High School Reunion

and our

4th Annual, 70th Birthday Bash

Dear Classmate and Friends!

Just think, over 55 years ago, June 25th 1951 to be exact, Superintendent of Schools Evan E. Jones, and Principal Lorenzo H. Knapp, sent 214 proud, ambitious students out to conquer the world. They encouraged us to make our "mark in life", and to make choices that will reflect honor and integrity to our beloved Alma Mater!

Well, for the most part we've done just that. We've lost over 53 of our classmates over the years, but they'll be in our thoughts this October, as we gather together to proudly boast of our accomplishments, which surely will be our children, grandchildren, and in some cases, even our great grandchildren. Now what better course could our lives have taken in life, then that of improving the lives of our loved ones?

So please, join us now as we celebrate the "Twilight of Our Years", by sharing our life stories, and of course pictures of our "beautiful families". So bring them with you to TJ's Villagio Trattoria, 223 Westchester Ave, in good "ole" Port Chester, NY, (formerly the Village Inn), on Sunday, October 8th, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

Thanks to the management of TJ's, (John, Ray & John), the cost will remain the same this year, at $47.50 per person, and will include Hot & Cold Hor d'oeuvres, a Scrumptious Buffet, Soft Drinks, Coffee, Dessert, Dance Music, Beer, Wine, Tax and Tip. Now, how can you beat that? Of course, other alcoholic bevearges are available, at a Cash Bar.

Passing of class mate Judy O'Neill 1987

To whom it may concern:

I was Judy O'Neil's mother. Judy graduated with the class of 1987. Judy battled 3 1/2 years of Breast Cancer. She passed away on February 4, 2004.

I wanted to share this with her class as I have put together all Judy's journals and emails and poems that she wrote in her time of sickness. A book was published in Judy's memory and the book is called "Judy's Fight." I had hoped if the book became a good seller that funds would be used to educate her daughter Alyssa, now 12 years old and her son Frank Carl III, 11 years old, for college if they both decide to go. She also left behind her husband Frank Cenname.

I know some of her class mates knew of her passing. But I would like her class mates to know this.

Sound Shore Community Fund Awards Grants to Local Charities

The Sound Shore Community Fund, as part of their annual grant process, recently awarded over $13,000 to local charities located within the Town of Rye. Non profits that received monies included HDSWs Hope House, which assists individuals recovering from severe mental illness both socially and mentally; the Cancer Support Teams Ovarian Support Group; Council for the Arts Connections After School Program; new equipment for the Port Chester Auxiliary Police; Benches for the Friends of Crawford Park; Cerebral Palsy of Westchesters Creation of a home court for their Barrier Breakers Wheelchair Basketball League; Blind Brook High School Community Service Club for costs associated with their ongoing soup kitchen as well as a pen pal program w/Edison School children and also to the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, League for Retarded Citizens, and Port Chester and Rye Brook Senior Citizens for costs associated with programming. The Sound Shore Community Fund was formed 10 years ago and is comprised of volunteers who live and/or work in the community. Monies are raised throughout the year through special events which include annual golf outings and wine tasting and silent auction fundraisers.
